Step #1 Learn How to Use EFT
In this video I’ll show you how to use this powerful technique effectively.

Picture tutorial: EFT tapping points and how to use EFT
![]() karate chop point Set up: To begin, use your dominant hand (right hand if you are right handed or left if you are left handed) to tap on the fleshy part of the side of your other hand. This fleshy part is called the Karate Chop since this is the part you would use if you were breaking a brick using Karate. While tapping the Karate Chop, we say a set-up phrase about 3 times. An example of a set up phrase could be, “Even though I’m so upset about this situation, I deeply and completely love, accept and forgive myself”. After this, we choose a reminder phrase, something that will help us keep our attention on the issue as we tap on the rest of the points. Say, ‘this problem’ or ‘this anger’. We tap on 8 points while repeating the reminder phrase: |
![]() start of the eyebrow 1. Start of the eyebrow. This is the bony part where the eyebrow begins. Use the tips of 1 or 2 fingers to tap on both the eyebrow points or just one. |
![]() side of the eye point 2. Side of the eye. This is the bony part beside the eye. Use 2 or 3 fingers to tap on one or both sides of the face. |
![]() under the eye point 3. Under the eye. This is the bony part on the socket of the eye, located below the pupils. Use 2 or 3 fingers to gently pat this area on one or both sides of the face. |
![]() EFT under the nose point 4. Under the nose. This is the area between the upper lip and the nose. Use 2 or 3 fingers to tap on this area. |
![]() EFT chin point 5. Above the chin. This point is located at the indentation below the lower lip. Use 2 or 3 fingers to tap here. |
![]() EFT collar bone point 6. Collar bone. This point is located at the fleshy part under the collar bone. Use 3 or 4 fingers to pat this area so you won’t miss the right spot. |
![]() under arm tapping point 7. Under the arm. This point is located about 4 inches under the armpit, aligned with the seam of your clothing. Use your palm to pat this area, so you’ll cover a greater area and won’t miss the exact spot. |
![]() EFT top of the head point 8. Top of the head. This point is located at the top of your head. Cup your hand and use your fingers to tap this general area or use your palm to pat it gently. |
This completes one round of EFT tapping. You repeat tapping for a few more rounds till you start feeling decidedly better and peaceful about the problem. One round of EFT takes less than a minute. Normally, you start feeling better from the first round itself.
Step #2 Tap Along
Once you are armed with the knowledge of how to use EFT (which is pretty easy by the way), it is time to solve those problems and bring on those changes.
Here’s my video that tells you what to say while tapping. Wording is important, since it reflects how we feel inside. The secret of EFT lies in how intensely we are able to access our feelings. So without further ado, let’s watch the video:
One you have neutralized negative emotions such as anger or nervousness, it is time to tap in some positive statements. In the next video, I show you how to know when to start tapping on positive statements in EFT.
If you have already been using EFT, this visual display of EFT tapping scripts is a good starting point:

Have you found Tapping to help with PHN or Postherpatic Neuropathic pain?
Hi Marti, thanks for stopping by.
As I understand, neuropathic pain can occur following viral infection, trauma, certain medications, or metabolic insults and serves no protective purpose.
Neuropathic pain does not protect or warn you. Instead, the nervous system breaks down and becomes the cause of the pain. It is often described as a burning pain and is generally insensitive to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Source: http://www.neurogesx.com/what_is_neuro_pain
Tapping has been found to be very useful in alleviating pain. Although I have not specifically dealt with PHN, some tapping using set ups such as these may be helpful:
While focusing on the painful sensation, try this tapping if you like:
“Even though this pain really serves me no purpose, but is just sticking around, I’m now ready to release it.”
“Even though pain can be a meaningful indicator of what may be wrong, this pain is not doing any of that. I am ready to let this painful sensation go.”
(it may help to tap on some of the anger and frustration that may have built up from having to put up with the pain)
“Even though I’m sick and tired of dealing with this stupid pain, I’m so ready to let it go!”
You can add more set up statements depending on your situation.
Here’s some example tapping on the face and body points.
1. This pain, I’m sick of it!
2. Enough is enough.
3. I could understand if it was helping.
4. But this is mostly just bothering me.
5. Like a nosy neighbour (I don’t know where that came from!)
6. Whatever is done is done, I don’t need to hold on to it.
7. So this pain really needs to go now.
8. But it is so stubborn.
9. All this burning!
10. Nothing is helping!
You get the idea Marti… If you choose to use tapping for PHN, please let me know how it worked for you. You can also email me directly at sonal@tap-easy.com. I’ll be happy to help you with any questions and further tapping.
Good luck!
Hi Sonal
I know this may seem a little cheeky but would you mind very much if I used your images above to insert into my kindle book about eft?
I would really appreciate it
Thanks
Barbara Smiles
Hi Barbara, yes it is cheeky and no, it is not okay to use these images. :) In your book, your own images would look better. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
thank you Sonal i had love for two english boys . who i loved as sons. they were loving. however i have noticed since having thier own money. they have become self indulgent arrogant and selfsh. all they think about is self gratification. . one likes nice clothes . the other likes to drink and party. they have become users. i can no longer tolerate them. so im breaking away from them. i am so glad i came accross your segment on you tube. i did the break up segment. i am angry and disappointed. but im going to try and love myself. And take one day at a time. Thank you Sonal
