Emotional Freedom Technique tapping to release fear of losing a good thing

Emotional Freedom Technique for fear of losing a good thing

What are you afraid to lose? A beautiful relationship, good health, youthful looks, that diamond ring, the posh car, your job, a happy state of mind?

A strong concern for the people, situations and things you love is a good thing. But if you have regular thoughts about you how terrible your life would be if you lost any of that, it takes the joy out of your present as well.

This fear and worry that one day these happy times may be taken away can keep you awake at night. It can influence your behaviour in way that is driven by fear and a mentality of lack. None of this is useful if you want to attract more good things to you.

How about we try EFT tapping to see if we can loosen the grip of this debilitating fear and turn our thinking into a more reasonable concern for these good things?

This script can be applied to many many situations and is a great fear buster.

Tapping through this EFT script takes about 6 minutes.

Full tapping sequence can be found in my popular program Money Worry and Scarcity Mindset. In this program, you simply tap along with me to release a scarcity mindset. Fear of losing what you have is a major factor feeding a scarcity mindset. Click here to learn what’s included in the Money Worry and Scarcity Mindset program.

EFT tapping set up

Even though I’m afraid this good thing will not last, and I’ll be left sulking, I deeply and completely love, accept and forgive myself.

Even though these fearful thoughts about losing this good thing dampen my present joy, I’d rather focus on its goodness than be reminded constantly of how awful my life will be without it.

Even though I doubt anything better than this will come along in my life, what if I could learn to appreciate this good thing for its uniqueness, and shed the worry about it being so unique that it cannot be replaced?

EFT tapping round 1

Eyebrow    This thing is so good, it’s scary.

Side of the eye    Alas, it won’t last. Nothing good ever lasts.

Under the eye    What if it is gone, just like that?

Under the nose    And things are never the same again?

Chin    It will be so hard to go back

Collar bone    to living without this good thing.

Under the arm    My life will never be the same again.

Top of the head    I doubt anything better will come along.

EFT tapping round 2

Eyebrow    But it’s not always about replacement.

Side of the eye    Not everything in life can be replaced!

Under the eye    I’m surprised this good thing has

Under the nose    even came into my life.

Chin    A part of me thinks if I fear losing this thing,

Collar bone    I’ll guard it better.

Under the arm    But my trying to hold it tighter isn’t making

Top of the head    this good thing more “mine” than it already is.

EFT tapping round 3

Eyebrow    This fear of losing it is only generating

Side of the eye    negative undercurrents that hamper

Under the eye    my efforts to retain it.

Under the nose    They’re only making it harder

Chin    to hold on to it even now.

Collar bone    What if I could focus on how good

Under the arm    this thing is, instead of focusing on

Top of the head    how bad it will be to lose it?

One Response to Emotional Freedom from the Fear of Losing a Good Thing

Sonal, at the moment there are so many people being made redundant in my country, and all around the world. Also in national health care institutions, people who have worked for lots of years and given all they had because they believed in what they did with all their heart. With very little chance of finding a new job within a reasonable amount of time, if you’re above a certain age (in Holland 40 is already a ‘dangerous’ age in that respect, let alone if you’re 50 or older and have to wait for your pension until you’re 67!).

This can have all sorts of consequences: no langer being able to pay the rent/mortgage, having to sell the house way below its real value (or not being able to sell the house at all so the banks turn on the bank screws and put you out on the Street with huge debts), having to cut back drastically on expenses which affects the whole family etc. etc.

You’re so good at writing scripts that at the same time are very realistic – as to expressing feelings of fear and anxiety etc. – AND uplifting. Could you not make up a script that tackles this issue and would help a lot of people to get through their jobless day, getting as much out of life as they can even though they are job less and with little hope for the (near) future?

Although we live here in “the West” and have so much to be grateful for, and are not being handed out the ‘real shit sandwiches’ that so many people in less blessed economies must take in their stride, there’s a lot of pain and depression here too.

You might help! I bought some of your scripts (weight loss, scarcity of money) which I use with my clients and I do not know if I am able to write the way you do. Wish I could!

    Love,
    Hélène
