Emotional Freedom Technique tapping when you feel upset

Sometimes life throws us a curveball and we end up feeling miserable, upset and angry. It can be small incidents that take away our peace of mind or big ones that completely take us by surprise.

Nonetheless, common reactions to an upsetting situation are anger and a feeling of being victimized. Sometimes others let us down, we miss deadlines, come down with a cold and so on.

It feels like there is certainly something outside of us that is responsible for our misery and upset. We feel powerless, and ranting seems to be a way out.

But the more we rant, the more we wallow in this upsetting feeling, the worse we feel. It hardly seems to make things any better for us, let alone make us feel like we’re back in the driver’s seat. How about we try EFT tapping for this?

This EFT script is general in nature, in a good way, so it can be used for a variety of reasons that could be making you feel upset. Pick a situation that stands out in your mind and tap along. Repeat the tapping with other incidents in focus.

Even though I’m so agitated I could bite someone’s head off, I still accept myself for feeling this way.

Even though I have reasons to be upset, and I am mighty upset right now, I choose to accept myself for feeling this way.

Even though it seems unimaginable that I’ll ever feel better, I don’t really want to wallow in this upsetting feeling forever.

Even though I’m in a bad mood right now and I’m not the most pleasant person to be around, I don’t want to be made to feel bad about my feeling this way.

Even though I’m so upset, even angry, I am questioning why things have to get to this level for someone to sit up and pay attention to me?

Eyebrow    I’m feeling so agitated right now.

Side of the eye    There are some pretty good reasons too.

Under the eye    I am perfectly entitled to be upset.

Under the nose    In fact, I would be stupid if I weren’t upset right now.

Chin    I don’t even want to calm down.

Collar bone    This is my way of letting it out.

Under the arm    Nothing seems good enough right now.

Top of the head    I’m feeling like a prisoner

Eyebrow    of my surroundings and circumstances.

Side of the eye    There’s so much going on in my head.

Under the eye    This latest upset is only adding fuel to fire.

Under the nose    I keep telling myself things will get better.

Chin    Maybe I’m just fooling myself.

Collar bone    Maybe this is all there is.

Under the arm    Maybe things just don’t get better than this.

Top of the head    I’m at war with everyone, everything!

Eyebrow    Why does it have to be me?

Side of the eye    I’m always doing things to make my life better.

Under the eye    And yet not a moment of peace in sight!

Under the nose    It is unfortunate that I need to get to this level

Chin    of upset in order to assert myself.

Collar bone    I deserve better.

Under the arm    Others don’t realize my value.

Top of the head    Heck, sometimes I don’t realize my value.

EFT tapping round 4

Eyebrow    Bending over backwards at times,

Side of the eye    to help others and yet, look at me now!

Under the eye    What if this upset is trying to tell me something

Under the nose    that I didn’t pay attention to earlier?

Chin    Maybe my upset is stemming from a lot

Collar bone    of other reasons aside from the one on hand.

Under the arm    Those reasons have accumulated over time,

Top of the head    and now I’m feeling like a mess.

Eyebrow    What if I gave myself more attention from now on

Side of the eye    so that it didn’t have to get to this level,

Under the eye    for me to get my blood boiling,

Under the nose    before I will pay attention to me?

Chin    Listening to others is fine,

Collar bone    but I now choose to listen to myself too.

Under the arm    Taking care of others is fine,

Top of the head    but I now choose to take care of myself too.

Eyebrow    With this promise, I’m feeling assured, stronger.

Side of the eye    I may not control my surroundings

Under the eye    but I can always control how I respond to them.

Under the nose    I choose to take the control back,

Chin    of my own moods and responses.

Collar bone    So that I don’t have to feel like a victim.

Under the arm    Because I’m not a victim. Period.

Top of the head    I am stronger when I’m calmer.

EFT tapping round 7

Eyebrow    So now I can relax a little.

Side of the eye    If there are things I need to do,

Under the eye    to feel better, I choose to do them.

Under the nose    I am releasing this need to feel bad.

Chin    I am cooling down bit by bit. And cheering up a little.

Collar bone    I’m starting to feel better.

Under the arm    I like this new feeling of peace.

Top of the head    I am calm and confident now.

    thank y so much sonal. you seem to have a remedy for everything i am feeling. i was just upset as once again. i have to borrow out money to an irresponsible i live with. he seem to think because hes going to have a pay me back . i shouldnt have a problem. what he doesnt realise is i feel used. because he knows im going to be there as always to pick up the pieces its fine. i now despise him and have no love for him .
